Below is a list of skills and knowledge within the community of Kibblesworth. If you have something to offer or want to contact someone with a skill listed below contact the Millennium Centre.

Enid Chartis

Skill to offer – I’m over 90 now but still like to do glass painting, silk painting, knitting and making wool rugs

Jenna Beattie

Skill I can offer – I plait the hair of lots of the children in the village, the last one I did was for a friend’s daughter’s birthday and it took 4 hours!

Jackie Hewitson

Skill I can offer: I am good at decorating, in particular wallpapering and painting. Skill I’d like to learn: My partner has always wanted to learn to cook so that would be good!

Denise Moffat

Skill I can offer: I am good at photography, gardening and I do Yoga on a Wednesday morning Skill I’d like to learn: I’d love to learn carpentry!

Skill I can offer: I used to work as a gardener for Gateshead council so I can help with gardening

Skill I can offer – I work in a private home as a carer but I used to work in a care home in Kibblesworth but it’s closed now.

Skill to learn – I’d like to learn more about computers so I’m going on a course soon but I’m a bit apprehensive about it!

Skill I can offer: I am good with computers if anyone needs any help.

Skill I can offer: I work as a Mechanic so I suppose that is my best skill.

Albert Johnson (Founder of Kibblesworth Karvers)

I create carvings from scrap wood and specialise in walking sticks. I’ve lived in Kibblesworth for 45yrs and I’m an ex-train driver and instructor.

Ron Dow

I am a member of Kibblesworth Karvers and use all kinds of techniques. I specialise in woodturning using wood such as ash, spalted beech, blackthorn, hazel and hawthorn to create candlesticks, bowls and ornaments.

Stan

I am a member of Kibblesworth Karvers and specialise in pyrography (decorating wood with burn marks by using a heated object such as a poker). At the moment however, I am working on relief carvings.

Malcolm Mains

I am a member of the Kibblesworth Karvers. At the moment I am working on a trout stick and making it out of ram’s horn. I also make fishing flies for trout and salmon.

Insider Art

This information is part of 'InsiderArt' - a project led by arts group "Rednile" which involves creative activity with the community and artists in order to gather ideas for green spaces and public art in Kibblesworth.
