The Centre, which is part of Gateshead
Councils Youth and Community Learning
Service offers a wide variety of
facilities aimed at accommodating a
broad range of activities for residents
of all age groups within the local
community.
The Centre provides:
> Youth club for young people aged 11-
19 years. Which is currently run on Monday and group work on a Tuesday evening.
> Adult learning courses in partnership
with Gateshead Council. Current and
past courses have included Local
History, Yoga, Guitar, I.T. and
Creative Crafts .
> A large range of social and
recreational activities which include a
women's group looking at a range of
health issues, coffee morning, line
dancing and craft groups, mother and
baby group and a bingo social evening
> Special events include an annual
summer fayre, Christmas activities,
special open days and environmental
craft events
> Four Public Internet Access computers
provided by Gateshead Libraries Service
> On site Library service provided by
Birtley Library
> Room hire facilities for seminars,
conferences and training events
> Plans are currently been looked at to have a gym within the Centre.
